System Activity

System Activity is the history of everything TvT did in the background: transcodes, captions, thumbnails, applied edits, and AI organize runs. Running, queued, and paused work stays pinned to the top.

1. What needs you

When something needs you, a banner at the top says so: a failed job you can retry, or an AI run waiting for your review. Show narrows the list to just those. Automatic cleanup deletes old history after a window you pick; it only ever deletes the record of what ran, never a video.

2. Finding an entry

Search by video or run. Filters narrows by kind of work, status, where it came from, and when, section by section, with a count as you go.

3. One entry

Each entry shows the kind of work, the video or run it was for, when, how long it took, and the outcome. The chevron opens the details: the error in full when there is one, and a Dismiss that clears the badge but keeps the entry. The three dots hold the actions: open the video, retry, pause or resume, cancel, and delete. Work that is still running has to be cancelled before it can be deleted.

4. Many entries

Tick entries and the bulk bar appears: dismiss, retry the failed ones, pause, resume, cancel, or delete. Select all ticks the page, and the banner reaches every matching entry across all pages.

5. Settings, reset, pause

The settings panel decides how many jobs run at the same time, with a recommendation for this computer, whether the background work tray pops up, and a limit per kind of work, so transcodes never crowd out everything else. At the bottom, Reset background work stops everything running and clears the queue, after a confirmation, and can leave the queue paused afterwards. Pause in the header holds the whole queue: running work finishes, nothing new starts, and Resume lets it carry on.

Good to know

  • The tray on every page is the live view of the same queue; this page is the history.
  • Retry on a failed caption job works once a Whisper model is installed in AI Settings.
